L’histoire
Blanc Garitan
Located in Ambonnay, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, the
Maison Champagne Blanc Garitan preserves a long family tradition
family tradition dedicated to the art of champagne. The vineyard extends over
terroir of excellence, characterised by limestone soils, hillsides
hillsides and a climate with a dual oceanic and continental influence,
which gives freshness, finesse and balance to the wines.
The family cultivates the three classic Champagne grape varieties:
Chardonnay, which gives elegance and delicacy; Pinot Noir, which
brings structure and aromatic intensity; and Pinot Meunier, which
however, is not vinified in the Maison's cuvées.
Work in the vineyard is entirely manual: from pruning
from pruning to ébourgeonnage, from liage to palissage, each step is carried out with
craftsmanship by Corinne and Sébastien Blanc, assisted by the
students of the Gionges viticulture school and a team
dedicated team during the grape harvest.
Vinification follows a precise process that respects the
champenoise tradition: after the harvest, the grapes are pressed,
the must ferments and, after malolactic fermentation, we move on to the
malolactic fermentation, we move on to blending, a fundamental moment in which the style
of the Maison. This is followed by mousse, bottle ageing
for at least 15 months, manual remuage and dégorgement.
The result is a champagne that authentically expresses
the identity of the Ambonnay terroir and the vision of a family that
carries on a craft of excellence with passion and expertise.
